Results:

Brabantse Erfgoedprijs has evolved into a well known innovation stimulating instrument that is supported by a thorough submission process, a sound jury process, a suitably innovative Award Ceremony with a set Award protocol and a constructive cooperation with the winners.

What:

Brabant traditionally is a very cultural heritage oriented province with a variety of prizes to award different aspects of working with cultural heritage. Erfgoed Brabant proposed to connect various prizes into one: a prize for innovation with cultural heritage, “The Brabantse Erfgoedprijs”. Together with Erfgoed Brabant over the course of two editions I developed the concept of the prize, the jury and the jury process, the follow up of the award winner and the Award Ceremony. The Brabantse Erfgoedprijs has developed into a unique instrument to stimulate innovation with cultural heritage and is one of the few instruments that explicitly reaches out to non-traditional cultural heritage parties. In the slipstream of this Award in 2015 we organized a public festival during the Dutch Design Week to involve the public in questions related to cultural heritage. Our tagline: Who decides what the cultural heritage of the future is? And my, did we attract an audience in our pop-up museum!
